HalalXpert held a webinar on 14 October 2021 to share our Sheep Farming and Breeding Investment Program. The webinar was hosted by Islamic Events at their studio and drew in about 30 participants. Participants were treated to a presentation on the program and an interactive question-and-answer session. MasyaAllah Islamic Event (IE) did an excellent job (as always) in educating the audience. Seen here in the video is Mr Mohd Nasser, who is comforting one that seems too tired to even leave the holding paddock after disembarking from the truck. Alhamdulillah, after a short period of rest, she was well enough to join the rest of the flock in the grazing fields.

Our sheep have arrived at our farm and are in the process of being offloaded into the holding paddock before being released into the grazing fields. Doing what comes naturally, almost as if answering to the call of the wild, our sheep waste no time running out into the grazing fields. Action truly speaks louder than words, and the sheep appear more than just happy and are literally jumping for joy at being allowed out into the grazing fields after their journey to our farm and some time spent in the holding paddock. First Published on 11 October 2021 in Facebook We have chosen to name our farm Avicenna Farm in honour of probably the most significant philosopher in the Islamic tradition and arguably the most influential philosopher in the pre-modern era. Avicenna is the Latinized name of Ibn Sina. His formal Arabic name was Abu Ali al-Husayn bin Abdullah ibn al-Hasan bin Ali bin Sina al-Balkhi al-Bukhari. He was regarded as one of the most significant physicians, astronomers, thinkers and writers of the Islamic Golden Age. He is also regarded as the father of early modern medicine.

First Published on 9 October in Facebook One major concern for any livestock farmer is the availability of water for the animals under their care. And that too has been a concern for us when we embarked on our enterprise into sheep farming and breeding. Alhamdulillah, our farm is blessed with an abundant supply of ground water, located some 10 metres underground. Using boring tools and a water pump, we are able to easily extract the ground water for our sheep. And we will be doing this across the 773 acres of our farm. The water will also prove to be useful for the cultivation of natural feed for the sheep, to supplement the already abundant high quality grass that is growing in the fields. The other natural feed that we will cultivate is to provide variety in the sheep's diet and also to supplement their dietary needs, especially when the ewes (female sheep) have given birth and are milking their lambs.
