Water, water, everywhere

One major concern for any livestock farmer is the availability of water for the animals under their care.

And that too has been a concern for us when we embarked on our enterprise into sheep farming and breeding.
Alhamdulillah, our farm is blessed with an abundant supply of ground water, located some 10 metres underground.
Using boring tools and a water pump, we are able to easily extract the ground water for our sheep. And we will be doing this across the 773 acres of our farm.
The water will also prove to be useful for the cultivation of natural feed for the sheep, to supplement the already abundant high quality grass that is growing in the fields.
The other natural feed that we will cultivate is to provide variety in the sheep's diet and also to supplement their dietary needs, especially when the ewes (female sheep) have given birth and are milking their lambs.
As more sheep arrive on our farm in the days and weeks ahead, and begin to make it their home, we will progressively make available more water points for the benefit of the sheep.
