Exploring Cattle Farming

Avicenna Farm is undertaking a feasibility study on cattle farming as part of our growth plan in livestock farming.
We have invested in a small herd of Jersey cow calfs for this effort.
Jersey cows are a relatively small breed of dairy cattle used primarily for milk production.

First Published on 11 October 2021 in Facebook Our farmer, Mohd Nasser, in the process of receiving our sheep at Avicenna Farm, which is jointly owned by Wonderz Pty Ltd, ARK Advantage Sdn Bhd and HalalXpert Pte Ltd.   Alhamdulillah. Our sheep have arrived at our farm and are in the process of being offloaded into the holding paddock before being released into the grazing fields. Doing what comes naturally, almost as if answering to the call of the wild, our sheep waste no time running out into the grazing fields. Action truly speaks louder than words, and the sheep appear more than just happy and are literally jumping for joy at being allowed out into the grazing fields after their journey to our farm and some time spent in the holding paddock. Water, water, everywhere

First Published on 9 October in Facebook One major concern for any livestock farmer is the availability of water for the animals under their care. And that too has been a concern for us when we embarked on our enterprise into sheep farming and breeding. Alhamdulillah, our farm is blessed with an abundant supply of ground water, located some 10 metres underground. Using boring tools and a water pump, we are able to easily extract the ground water for our sheep. And we will be doing this across the 773 acres of our farm. The water will also prove to be useful for the cultivation of natural feed for the sheep, to supplement the already abundant high quality grass that is growing in the fields. The other natural feed that we will cultivate is to provide variety in the sheep's diet and also to supplement their dietary needs, especially when the ewes (female sheep) have given birth and are milking their lambs. The PIC is only issued to owners of properties that have livestock living and grazing on the land. PICs are part of a traceability system which ultimately provide confidence to consumers and people who are interested to know more about the property.
